  • What is CGF Prepared Meals
    CGF Prepared Meals is a fully prepared meal service that offers a variety of entrees, soups, salads, and budget-friendly meals made with locally grown ingredients. Our menu changes weekly and our meals are available by pick up or delivery for those living in or near Dubuque, IA.
  • Where are you located?
    We are located at 2900 Central Avenue in Dubuque, IA. This location also serves as the pick up site for our Prepared Meals each Wednesday.
  • How and when do I order?
    A new menu is posted on our website each Monday evening. You then have until Saturday at midnight to order. Your meals will be ready on Wednesday of the next week.
  • Where can I pick up the Prepared Meals?
    Meals can be picked up on Wednesdays at 2900 Central Ave. If you are a John Deere or Hirschbach employee, there are also options to pick up at those locations.
  • How far do you deliver?
    We deliver within a 10 mile radius of our location (2900 Central Ave. Dubuque, IA 52001).
  • Do you offer free delivery?
    We offer free delivery on orders of $100 or more.
  • Is this a subscription meal service?
    No, this is not a subscription meal service. You can order one week, skip the next two, and then order again the following week - or however and whenever you like!
  • Where do you source your ingredients?
    As part of our mission to reconnect food and people, it is important to us to source as many of our ingredients locally as possible. We even have two garden plots of our own! Read more about our gardens and the growers and farmers we support here. Each Friday we also send out an email with a list of local growers that will be featured in that week’s menu. You can sign up for our email list here.
  • Do your meals come with nutrition information?
    The majority of our meals come with nutritional facts, which can be found on our website in the menu item’s description.
  • Do you offer any meals that cater to specific dietary preferences?
    With our menu constantly changing, we cannot cater to specific dietary preferences each week. We do make an effort to offer vegan, vegetarian, keto-friendly, gluten free, and dairy free options often. These preferences will be noted with a green ribbon on the menu item photo or in the item description.
  • Can the containers the food comes in be returned?
    The black entree containers and lids can be returned for us to wash, sanitize, and reuse. We strive to make our meal service as sustainable and zero-waste as possible! All other CGF prepared meal packaging can be rinsed and recycled at your home.
  • Are the food containers microwave or freezer safe?
    Our black entree containers and lids are BPA free and can be used in both the microwave and the freezer. Our soup containers are are also freezer and microwave friendly. All the other containers are not microwavable.
  • Can I order meals for someone else?
    Yes! You can order meals to be delivered to someone else’s house - we have had patrons who live out of Dubuque that have ordered for their aging parents, as a gift for someone who just had a baby, or even as a way to say thank you. Healthy, delicious food is the perfect gift!
  • Are you part of Convivium Urban Farmstead?
    We used to operate as a partnership with Convivium, but since fall of 2022 we are an independent entity.
  • Do you own your own kitchen space?
    No, we rent and operate out of Convivium’s Central Kitchen, a commercial community kitchen located at 2900 Central Avenue.
  • What kind of experiences do you offer?
    We offer (1) an Interactive Dinner Experience, (2) Wine Tastings, and (3) a combination of the Dinner and Wine Tasting. Learn more about each of these offerings here.
  • How do I schedule a dinner experience?
    To schedule a dinner experience, email Justyna at info@citygirlfarming-dbq.com. Note: all experiences must be booked at least ten days in advance and dates are subject to availability.
  • Can I use a gift card for the experiences?
    Yes, you can use a CGF gift card for any of the three dinner experiences. Gift cards never expire and can be purchased in any amount here.
  • Where are the City Girl Farming plots located?
    City Girl Farming has been growing at the Collaborative Farm in Sinsinawa, WI since 2017. It is a USDA Organic and Real Organic Certified Farm. A second plot was acquired just one block from our kitchen in the North End of Dubuque in the spring of 2023. Learn more about our plots here.
  • Do you source ingredients from other local farmers and growers?
    Yes, we source as much of our produce locally as possible both for our Prepared Meal Service and our Dinner Experiences. You can read more about the local growers and farmers we support here.
